The Oscar awards for the year 2008 are out and the winners are.The movie slumdog millionaire has made a clean sweep by winning eight out of the possible nine for which it was nominated.Slumdog millionaire won the awards in the following categories which are the best film , best director-danny boyle,best screenplay-simon beaufoy,best cinematography-anthony dod mantle,best music score-A r rahman,best editing-chris dickens,best sound mixing – ian tapp,richard pryke and resul pookutty and the best original song A r rahman and sampooran singh gulzar.which makes them the winner of all the major awards.Then the best Actor in the lead role went to sean penn for milk,the best actress in lead role went to kate winslet for the reader,best actor in the supporting role went to heath ledger for the dark knight,while the best actress for the supporting role was bagged by Penelope cruz for vicky cristina barcelona.
