Which is bigger the worlds biggest film festival ‘Cannes film festival’ or the Oscar. There is always a debate going on around the world, about which is the biggest award for a film maker.That is which is the biggest ‘Cannes or Oscar’s’.People in India and around the world, rate the Oscar’s a bit higher than the other awards.But i differ with that opinion of Oscar being the biggest. I agree with the fact that Oscar is the biggest in terms of popularity and trp’s but,we should not forget the fact that the Oscar award is given only to the people who make Hollywood films.It is the recognition given to, only the Hollywood films.But the only award given by the Oscar committee is the best foreign film for the foreing film’s or to say non hollywood films.But most of the film makers in India and around the world aim only for that single award for foreing films.It would be better of to say Oscar is for the Hollywood films than for world cinma.
But, on the other hand the Cannes film festival is the festival which is for the world cinema.The best films around the world is screened and awarded.This is the place where true talent is recognized in terms if film making.There is also a fact that most of the times not the Hollywood films win the Cannes award. this states the fact that ,not all Hollywood films that wins the Oscar award for a certain year is the best film made made in terms of the world stage.This states that better films win the Cannes than that of the Oscar’s.I personally feel that if a film maker who wants to be recognized on the world stage,must aim the Cannes.That is if you make a film that has the potential of winning Cannes, then your sure to win the Oscar’s.So lets build the road to the Cannes.
