The much awaited BAFTA awards for 2009 has finally been announced.BAFTA in other words known as British academy of film and television arts, is one of the most prestigious awards given in recognition for the excellence in film making. This years BAFTA was swiped by the film which had a strong Indian connection,slumdog millionaire.Slumdog millionaire which was nominated for 11 BAFTA’s won 7 of them,most importantly all awards were major awards,which included best film,best director,best adapted screenplay,best original score,best cinematography,best sound editing,etc..It was clearly a Indian show out there in London.While the best actor award was bagged by Mickey Rourke for the wrestler,Kate winslet won the best actress for The reader.And the best actor in the supporting category was won by the late Heath Ledger for his super performance as a joker in The dark knight.while the best actress in the supporting role went to Penelope Cruz for her role in Vicky Christina Barcelona.
