Vegetarian diet is important to all, not only because it is healthier but also to avoid more consumption of animal fat and meat. It is proven that consumption of meat induces higher chances for cancer, obesity, and other serious health problems. A vegetarian is a person who eats only vegetable foods and desists the consumption of animal meat. Evidence suggests that people who follow vegetarian diet acquires all the nutrients that a human body needs.

A perfect vegetarian diet is that diet which is healthy to the body, and contains fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds, nuts, legumes and other plant-based foods. This type of diet has more fiber and lesser cholesterol and fat as compared to non-vegetarian diet. Vegetarianism is followed mostly by Hindus and Buddhists, as they treated animals equally, and found out that vegetarians have a longer, healthier life and also for other religious purposes. Though it is not necessary that one should completely stop eating animal meat, it is important that vegetarian diet is given priority and animal meat is rarely consumed.
